Information about getting started this year, Odyssey's new registration system, changes on the NYSOMA Board, Regional tournaments dates, Arm & Hammer fun, and a little video to brighten your day!
Are you ready to solve this year’s problems?
You may have read the problem synopses, but to really get started you need the full long-term problems. These are only available when you purchase a national membership.
As the wildapricot online platform has been replaced, if you created an account last year in the Odyssey HQ registration system, when you try to purchase a membership you will need to ‘activate’ your account by resetting your password on the log-in page. Once approved, you will receive an email with a link to reset it.
If you are new, then create an account first.
Congratulations to Minisink Valley HS and Vestal schools for being the first to have their teams prepped with problems picked ready to solve!

NYSOMA says goodbye to old faces and hello to new ones!
After many years as a coach, official, Regional Director, NYSOMA Board member and State Registrar Jean Oliverio stepped down over the summer. We thank her for all these years of commitment and dedication to the program.
Replacing Jean as State Registrar is no stranger to many of us... Kim Lamparelli. Kim was the State Registrar prior to Jean and is an active member of our judging team.
Known by so many as the Problem 1 Head Judge adorned with the crazy head boppers, a huge smile and booming voice, she attends several regional tournaments each year as well as State and World Finals.
Welcome back Kim!
We also thank Tiffany Smith for her work over the past few years as the State Judges' Coordinator. Jeff Carter will be assuming this role allowing Tiffany to focus on our Odyssey alumni. This means NYSOMA has a new Treasurer, Jeff Guldenschuh.
We wish all of them the best in their new roles.

“Whoaaa Moment!” Arm & Hammer Baking Soda Rocket Day
Need something to do on October 9, 2025? Think about joining in the fun with hundreds of others as you use Arm & Hammer baking soda to launch a rocket into space.
As it blasts off we know you will proclaim “Whoaaa!” in amazement so join in the “Whoaaa Moment!” and be amazed.
