Season Kickoff

The new Odyssey season is upon us.

Now that schools are back our thoughts turn to Odyssey. News about the recently released full long-term problems, a teaser about State Finals, the first part of statewide Coaches' Training and a request for help and volunteers to help run the program in New York!

You may have read the problem synopses below, but to really get started you need the full long-term problems, which have just been released.

These are only available when you purchase a national membership.

Exciting news about State Finals 2027.

New York Odyssey is making some big changes that will improve the experience for teams and officials alike.

Details will be announced in our October NY Odyssey News.

For now just mark your calendars – the date is March 20th 2027.

Coaches Training

NYSOMA is once again running a 3-part state-wide training for NY Odyssey of the Mind coaches.

Session 1: Getting Started will be held on Oct 14^th at 6:30pm by Zoom.

This is ideal for new Odyssey coaches but returning veterans can also both pick up some new tips and tricks, and be able to share their insights with the newbies.

NYSOMA is a community of volunteers that work together to promote, run and grow the Odyssey of the Mind Program in New York.

We currently have vacancies for:

Board Members

Committee Members

Assistant State Director

Assistant Webmaster

Additionally, we are looking for individuals to assist the State Finals Tournament Committee in planning the event and/or coordinating on the day of the event. Volunteers are welcome from anywhere in New York State, but if you are in the Syracuse area, we’d especially love your help!
